Savouring Saturday: Drunken Cherries & Pistachios

This little treat works perfectly as a snack or super classy hors d’oeuvres.  I happened upon this creation today because I was busy hanging pictures and decorating alongside my mom at her new home.  We were very ready for some noshing, but her fridge was stocked with some incredibly random stuff.  However, when I saw her seasonally fresh cherries, I knew that I had to figure out something to do with them.  Basically, I love cherries and they needed to get in my mouth!  So, I created a little nosh.

  • 1/2 cup roughly chopped fresh cherries
  • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1 tbls honey
  • 1 tbls Cointreau
  • feta
  • crackers (I used gluten free crackers)

Using a pairing knife, I sliced the cherry meat away from the stone pit.
