Pub Cheese for Oktoberfest
In honor of Oktoberfest, we decided to bring back our post for pub cheese. This nummy creation is perfect for a little, or a lot, of beer drinking! Cheers!!! 😉
Kiss me, I’m Irish!
(Or, at least I married an Irishman 😉 )
It is time to start dreaming up some fun ways to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day. There are a million crafty projects and ideas popping up everywhere I look, but one of my tried and true favorites is some good old fashioned pub cheese. After all, good food is an essential for any celebration and I have not met a soul that is not immediately addicted to this stuff. With a glass of Guiness, it is the perfect way to get in the spirit.
8 oz cheddar
8 oz parmesan
1/2 container of cream cheese
1 -2 cloves of garlic
1/3 cup of Dry Sherry
pecans for garnish optional
Add all the ingredients into a food processor and puree until smooth. You will note in the pix that I started with the Ninja, but quickly switched over to a regular processor for some real motor strength (probably due to my lazy approach of not shredding the cheese first…tee hee).
The Parmesan gives it a nice sharp flavor. When it comes to the garlic, I chose to add two whole cloves, but you can reduce it to one if you are not a huge fan of garlic.
The key ingredient in this dish is the sherry. Dry and fabulous mixed with the sharp cheddar and Parmesan!
Yup….note the magic switch to a food processor. Ha!
Garnish this happy dish of fabulousness with your favorite chopped nut. I am a total fan of pecans! Oh, and do not forget the glass of Guiness…that would be an utter shame
Served with some pretzels and some gluten free toasts, I am ready to bring on some St. Paddy’s Day charm!
