Pizza Waffles with Marinara Dip
Comin’ at ya with a little naughty this fine morning! Hahaha. I hope you have a cheat day coming up soon 😉 , cuz’ this idea is just plain old fun. The best part is you can make it with store-bought dough and not even have to worry about rising and kneading! This is one of those recipes that will bring out the kid in just about anyone.
packaged pizza dough (I love Trader Joe’s Pizza Dough)
olive oil (for brushing the waffle iron)
1 pack of pepperoni
fresh herbs: basil, parsley, thyme, rosemary, and/or oregano
jar of pizza sauce (for dipping)
Preheat your waffle iron while you get all your ingredients gathered. Brush your hot iron with olive oil, spread out some of your dough, then layer it with your fillings and sandwich it with one more layer of dough.
Close your waffle iron and let it do all the work.
You can keep your pizza waffles warm in a low oven while you continue to make a feast.
When it comes time to serve, warm up your favorite jar of marinara and get ready to dip away! This takes the concept of a calzone to a super fun level….like a Sesame St level, right?
I think that these will have to be at our next game day…perfect snacking finger food!
