Often, Sam and I have a terrible time trying to narrow down our choices when scanning a menu. We usually want to try several things, so we wind up splitting entrees for the appeal of a smorgasbord. Case in point, we have been known to not even be capable of deciding on a soup at Bru, so they split two options for us and we get the desired sampling of soups…yum!
Well, for Mmmmmonday, we were seriously craving something other than American cuisine…just thinking that this week we would be eating so much turkey, gravy and mashed potatoes. So, we decided on Greek food for some warm and filling deliciousness. We have been to Jaffa Cafe in SLO and in Arroyo Grande, but we decided to give it a whirl in Paso Robles. And boy, were we met with a surprise.
Mmmm, are my eyes deceiving me or are we about to embark on a restaurant splitsville? Jaffa Cafe with it’s crazy delicious Greek food is cohabitating with Panolivo, a beautifully complimentary restaurant with Mediterranean French cuisine. Forget sharing entrees, in Paso you have to decide on which side of the restaurant to sit. No fear, the side doesn’t determine the cuisine, just the level of service: walk-up ordering or table service. Phew, Sam and I could rest easy.
Seats chosen……now time for menu selections. Sam and I stayed true to our original hankering for Greek food and ordered shawarma platters. But our curiosity about Panolivo’s creative menu got Sam back over there the next day for brunch with the fam!
Ummm and did we mention the fabulous pastries and such? Ridiculously decadent and gorgeous. AND with awesome gluten free selections!
Oh, A Bientot….but we will be coming back for sure!
