Homemade Fig Chutney

We are in full throttle of fig season and couldn’t be happier, especially since my brother got married last week and there was definitely a fig inspired menu. For our zesty nibbles platter we decided to step it up with some homemade fig chutney. You can’t go wrong when you combine all these yummy ingredients and slather it on a cracker with a wedge of brie. Need I say more? Plus this recipe is so easy and actually makes a lot so you will be ready to launch into the holiday season with some yummy homemade chutney. These would be adorable in little jars for the holiday season as well! Let’s get zesting….


  • 4 cups figs
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup raisens
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Zest of 1 orange

First add your brown sugar and vinegar and melt the sugar over medium heat….

Next add all your fixings into the pot…
