Fresh Clementine Margarita
It’s not quite sweater weather just yet, so I say bring on the margs!
With California September temps still hitting the sunny 90’s, this concoction of pure clementine heaven is the perfect way to keep it chill. The color and flavor dance and dazzle in a glinty glass like nobody’s business. The beauty comes from whirling completely intact clementines into the mix, skins included!
This margarita is not rocket science, but it is dang good! Use your favorite tequila and some store-bought margarita mix. I used Jose Cuervo’s here, but I REALLY like the flavor of the margarita mix at Costco. The only other ingredient for these sunny margaritas is the addition of several whole clementines.
The recipe is simple: two drinks call for 2 cups of mix, 2 shots of tequila, 3 clementines, a bit of ice, and a hefty dose of goofy.
You start seeing that vibrant color come alive almost immediately. It makes me smile! Just blend it until all your ice is crushed, and the clementine peel has liquified into a bright orange nectar.
If you want more of a slushy, add more ice. I prefect mine a bit thinner because I hate brain-freeze.
Sunny, bright, and perfect for saying goodbye to summer. I think I am going to pair this one with some crunchy ahi tacos 😋
Adding whole clementines to the whirl of tequila and margarita mix may change your life....or at least your celebration! 🎉🍹
- 2 shots tequila
- 2 cups margarita mix
- 3 whole clementines
Add all the ingredients into a blender along with some ice, and puree until the cocktail turns an icy, frothy, jewel toned orange. Serve immediately and enjoy.
