DIY Beachy Hair Spray & Wave Tutorial
How is it already August?!?
I have been relishing these warm, long summer days. I will be sad when I have to put away my sun dresses and sandals and don my boots and sweaters. Do not get me wrong, I really enjoy Fall….but there is something magical about warm summer nights and the freedom of casual summer style. It is the time of year when it is perfectly acceptable to throw on a dress after a long day on the beach, and head out for a beautiful dinner alfresco. The effortless beauty and healthy glow that comes from playing outdoors and enjoying a slower pace (at least from time to time) is what we tend to try and recreate the rest of the year with MUCH more effort. Fortunately, even when the temperatures drop, I have found a way to keep my hair casual and summer ready, thanks to the growing trend of beach waves and salt misted hair.
I love this little recipe! I love it because it is quick, easy, and can be whipped up with basic ingredients in your kitchen and bathroom cabinets. The best part, it gives my hair fabulous texture for that sand & surf vibe this summer.
Beach Spray Ingredients:
1 tbls sea salt
1 tbls olive oil
1 tbls hair gel
Now how to use this stuff, you may ask. Simple. I let my hair air dry, or I do a quick rough dry with the blow dryer. Then, I bust out my curling iron for a fast touch up.
I like to keep things organic and unpredictable, so I rotate the direction of my curl…curling forwards, and then backwards on the next section of hair.
Bahaha! Nice result, right?
This is where my DIY sea salt spray comes in handy.
Once the curls are cooled, I give my bottle a good shake up (very important) and then I spray all over, giving it a major tousle.
I love the texture and dimension it creates.
This recipe and technique are so easy, I hope you give it a try!
See you beach bums!!
