We had such an amazing weekend! Catering a luncheon of 143 wonderful people on Saturday and then setting up for the Central Coast Bridal Expo on Sunday, where we had the awesome opportunity of meeting so many beautiful brides on the exciting journey of planning their big celebration! Everything was so beautiful (including our gorgeous appetizer display, if I do say so myself). However, today I felt a bit like Cinderella after the Ball: tired and a tad worn-out. Thank goodness I had a solution (other than sleep and caffeine 🙂 ).Introducing my fierce threesome: matcha (a Japanese green tea that is the entire tea leaf ground up to make a fine powder), Chia seeds (is the Che-che-che-chia tune ringing through your ears, or did I just date myself), and raw honey. In a tall glass, add a heaping tablespoon of chia seeds, a tablespoon of matcha, and a 1/2 tablespoon of raw honey. By the way, if you have never given chia seeds a try, this is the recipe for you…so delicious and packed with power!Add water to the mix, filling your glass a little over half full.Mix and let it sit for 10-15 minutes, giving the chia seeds time to swell and take on their super unique texture…yum.Now fill you glass to the top with cold almond milk, soy milk, or regular milk.This is seriously so easy and so good.Now decision time….which one to drink first? 🙂Ok, I’m being a good girl….chillin’ outside, soakin’ up some vitamin D with the last rays of the day while downing this delicious, healthful latte. Chia Matcha Latte
- 1 heaping tbls of chia seeds
- 1 tbls of matcha (green tea powder)
- 1/2 tbls raw honey (or regular honey)
- half a glass of water
- half a glass of almond milk, soy milk, or regular milk
Combine the first four ingredients, mix and let sit for 10-15 minutes while the seeds swell. Add in you milk, stir and enjoy!
