What’s Up Wednesday
We had a blast in LA over the weekend, visiting venues with our bride and groom. There are so many variations when it comes to venues. We scoped out trendy loft spaces, wineries, and even Art Deco beauties. We wanted to make sure and snap a couple of pix to take you along with us. Today, it is the rustic elegance of Calamigos Ranch that we absolutely have to share with you. A wedding venue since 1947, you better believe they have got this thing dialed! There was eye candy just about everywhere we turned when visiting this sprawling property in the Malibu hills.
Honestly, even their first impression at their Resort of bungalows was enough to have us planning our own little getaways to Malibu. This truly alfresco lobby had us swooning and dying for some lounge time.
There was so much to see, so we left visiting their restaurant for another day….but I am thinking a brunch here will be on my “must” list!
Now it’s time to visit the actual wedding sites. That’s right, I used a plural. There are at least four sites for weddings at Calamigos Ranch. Here is The Birchwood Room.
Blossoming trees and quaint waterfalls are the order of the day!
Looking up yonder, you get a sense that the reception will be held in a magical treehouse. I can hardly imagine the ambiance after night fall!
Walking inside, the space is warm and inviting. Surrounded by windows, you still feel as if you are in the tree canopy. This is a room that will bustle with fun as your guests dance the night away!
Onward we moved to explore The Oak Room. A casual walk away, the feel was very different….but the commonality of style and quality remained prominent. Everywhere we looked there was gorgeousness!
Can you believe this altar?!? If you are having trouble determining what is what in my dark photo, that is an extended waterfall decorated with hanging chandeliers. The music of the water was amazing!
The Oak Room reception location was equally spectacular. With an apex of an actual tree growing in the middle, the roof line was beautifully accentuated by draped chiffon. Dramatic and gorgeous is how I describe The Oak Room.
I love the leather sofas around the fireplace for a casual spot, but the view from the bridal room may be my favorite element of this site. Looking down from the balcony is simply magical.
Last stop for us at Calamigos was The Redwood Room.
Guests walk up this sweet footpath, accompanied by waterfalls and a stream.
The altar is massive and the trees are gorgeous. The impression is carried into the reception room, with solid furniture and a back window panorama of water falling from the roof line. Check it out!
I love how different each site is from each other. No wonder they have been throwing weddings for over 60 years! I feel like The Calamigos Ranch can appeal to so many different styles.
Phew, kinda done with pix for now. I can hardly believe how many I took over a two day period. Crazy! Thanks for letting me share 😉
