Hey, hey, hey! This weekend was AWESOME! We had an amazing time being together and enjoying the celebrations. Celebrations, plural? Yes! You bet! Since my sister and her new husband, Andrew, decided to get married at Flying Caballos in San Luis Obispo, we had a fantastic 4 night extravaganza! Sam and I will pull together a little video next week, but for now, here is a sneek peek!
On Thursday night I had a blast cooking with my soon-to-be brother-in-law for a truly magical barbeque with the majority of the wedding party and guests who were already in town.
Can you say “ribeye with brown butter and gorgonzola?” Oh, THANK YOU Bobby Flay for the ingenious recipe. And, um yes, that is Kerry Gold butter you see stacked there in the foreground!
Oh, and there was Arctic Char, asparagus, assorted sausages, caprese salad with mixed baby greens, and corn on the cob. Mouth watering? Yep, it was pretty ridiculous.
The next day we suffered through a beautiful wine tasting at Bailyana Winery. Shaded under the grape vine arbor, we tolerated the gentle breezes and lazy bocce ball games. Rough life for sure!
And, yes, that is my gargantuan 13 year old son towering over his auntie. Pretty funny.
Rough life we had…then we did a little “rehearsal,” changed wardrobe and headed out to one of my favorite restaurants in town: Novo. Great food and creek side dining under magically lit old oak trees! Gorge!
In the end, it was all about this moment…two becoming one…..
Oh, and YES, this amazing picture gave me the jitters!! I am on the edge of my seat, waiting for the awesomeness of Ely Roberts’ photos. What a talented artist! I love how he captured this moment for Corey and Andrew.
Of course, we then celebrated the next morning with an amazing brunch for almost 100 people out on the sunny lawn
with vistas for days.
Oh, and then a few of us headed out to Lido at Dolphin Bay Inn for a glorious birthday dinner for my sister’s new mother-in-law….with a fantastic band and food that I am still dreaming about.
SO exciting, and so blessed….and so tired. I love sentimental weekends when two soul mates unite….especially when I gain a new brother!! Not too shabby!
