You see this???
Look a little closer….
Yep, found these little guys smashed in the goodwill parking lot screaming for help in the heat. No worries, sam to the rescue.
I took them back home safe and sound and knew the perfect vessel, our newly found thrift store find that cost us a buck. Free plants + $1.00 vessel? Thrift thursday? Heck yes!
- Succulent (unless you are lucky enough to find yours in a parking lot, you might have to buy them-tee hee)
- Spanish Moss
- Reinderr Moss
- A cool vessel (basket/bowl/pot/branch/etc.)
- Newpaper (optional if you can’t contain soil in vessel)
First I pressed in the reindeer moss and spanish moss against the wire to create a natural looking wall
After I covered the entire span I made a little cup using newspaper, it’s great because this will hold the soil together but decompose over time as the moss forms the wall to contain the plant….
Add your soil…
Time to plant! I am pretty excited, can you tell?
Oh happy day! Even maya is admiring 🙂
Now for another vessel option that Chanda Panda tackled…
Grab a branch, that’s right any old branch laying around- we prefer the awesome birch bark.
Drill away! Grab at least a 1/2 ” drill or bigger for your little pocket
Conal was enjoying zesting today too! 🙂
Got your hole? Now lets add some color with some cute butcher twine we grabbed from Target.
The perfect pop of color! Time to plant….
Fill the hole with soil and grab your succulent, it won’t take much!
Voila! Now for the set!
Happy Thrift Thursday!!!
