Have you ever heard of shiso?? This gorgeous plant comes in red or green and is actually Japanese. This Japanese staple adds the perfect amount of flavor and zest to any dish, and in this case- cocktail. So basically think of any dish you would want to add mint or basil to and replace it with it’s Asian cousin- Shiso, and you can’t go wrong! We were so excited when we planted our shiso plant in the zesty garden and it took off!
- Juice from 1/2 a lemon
- 1 shot Gin
- 1 tsp Bitters
- 3 Shiso leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon Agave
- 1 egg white (this makes it have a frothy layer, sounds weird but SO good, dare ya!)
- Ice & Shaker
Muddle your shiso leaves with the bitters, agave and lemon juice.
Shake your egg white and shot of gin with your muddled mixture over ice, pour over strainer and enjoy!
