Pie Off

Why did I decide to make Banana Creme Pie? Oh, well one of my friends thinks he’s really good at making pies so he challenged me to a pie off.  I know, its not a super unique idea, but I figured this was a good one to start off with.

Crust:

1 tbl. Sugar

1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract

4 Tbl. Melted Butter

To make the crust, first, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Then, crunch up 2 2/3 cups of vanilla wafer cookies.  Mix together the cookies, sugar, vanilla extract, and butter.

Place mixture into a pie dish and gently spread an even layer over the bottom and sides of the dish.  Press crumbs in firmly to create a tightly packed crust.  Bake for 12-15 min. or until golden brown.

Once you bake the crust, let it cool before adding the filling.

For the filling, I used Banana Creme Pie instant pudding.

Banana Creme Pie Instant Pudding : Whisk with milk for 5 min.

Once the crust was cooled and the pudding was done, I poured the pudding over the crust, and then added cool whip and extra Nilla crumbs to top it off! It was pretty dang good if I say so myself…maybe a little too good. Ok, I only had three pieces.
