On Saturday we had the honor to serve the lovely Holly and Ryan 15 delicious pies at their adorable country wedding. The colors and flavors were gorgeous, ranging from strawberry rhubarb to apple streusel, berry, and peach bourbon. The only tricky part was “how to fit 15 pies on 1 dessert table?” Our awesome intern, Annie-Kate had a genius idea- use a chandelier!! That’s right- buckle up as we take you on our transformation now…
Step one: unscrew light fixtures
Step two: snip away the inner guts of the lamp (aka the cords- no need anymore!)
Step three: next we did some problem solving, using all the hardware from the lamp- we took the center wand and thread on a bolt and then used the bowl-like cover to make the stand look better.
Step four: spin away with the other fixture to use as a bolt to hold bottom piece together.
okay, looking good so far….now for the arms of the chandelier
step five: time to take out the porcelain lightbulb fixtures
Step six: remove all wires from center
Now it’s time to start glueing the plates! We decided to use the glass light fixture on a few of the arms to add vertical height to the display and then plates won’t hit each other.
We used epoxy for the glass
Then we spray painted the chandelier with antique white.
Check it out in action!! Rocking 4 pies and one cute plate to hold flowers, napkins or a food label.
Thanks for watching us Zest this chandelier! Hungry now? 🙂
