MMMMmmmonday: Monkey Business Cafe

When Billy and I were down south a few weeks ago we went adventuring in Fullerton area only to discover this little gem: Monkey Business Cafe. Now I must give ALL the credit to dear Billy- you see I told him I was craving a “fresh” breakfast and something that was just not your usual eggs & bacon and boy did he do his research. Not only does this cafe have amazing food and service- but I absolutely love the cause. Here’s their story straight from them….

“Monkey Business Café, a 501c3 non profit social enterprise, was opened in August 2005 in direct response to the need for further support.

Monkey Business Café offers a 6 month paid job training program.  Participants work one-on-one with a job coach to foster a pathway to success that includes work experience, employability skills and living skills.

In addition, youth have life time access to a resource room that includes computers, community resources (housing, transportation, mental health services, medical services), career exploration, and educational support.”

IMG_8553IMG_8552I loved the “giving tree” painted with all the local  that  support them.

IMG_8555I also thought this was so beautiful, forget the flowers and go with some farm fresh cilantro, parsley, and basil!

So what did I order??

I am in LOVE with Roy’s Ricotta Pancakes, I love all things lemon and this delish plate is made of lemon creme fraiche, powdered sugar, and homemade whipped cream.

IMG_8558Then instead of the classic acai bowl we branched out to try the Granola Parfait made with homemade honey almond granola, acai yogurt, and seasonal fresh fruit! A pure delight!

And we also did try the “surf bar” but there is no pic, hehe:)This bar is made with walnuts, cranberries, chocolate chips, coconut, flax seed and oatmeal!

So next time you are headed down south be sure to check out this MMMMMmmmm treasure!
