But maybe you are scratching your head saying, what is a Friendsgiving? Well as one might conclude, it’s the perfect combo of friends and thanksgiving, aka being thankful and eating super yummy food with people you love. (Or in the case of our pop up dinner, eating really yummy food and making new friends that you will love! ha!) So why not throw a friendsgiving of your own? “Friendsgiving’s” have become quite a trend in the past few years. This excuse to throw a dinner party with ones you love (and are not necessarily forced to see and or eat their green bean casserole, sorry Uncle Bobby) is a trend we will support!! Infact let me walk you through throwing the perfect Friendsgiving…..

 One: INVITE

Think through all the people you would want to celebrate with! Think of people who know each other but also some that don’t and should know each other! This will make for the perfect setting to allow people to make new friends but also connect amongst this busy time of the year. Choose how you will invite- Facebook? Snail mail? Email invite like e-vite, punchbowl, etc?

Two: MENU PLAN

Plan ahead! Especially if you are not super into cooking and baking. This will take the stress out of last minute hiccups that may arise. Will you be doing the main dish (aka the Turkey) and guests bring sides? Or will you go crazy and zest up your own menu? Here are some yummy recipes to inspire…

Three: DECORATE

This is one of my favorite parts! Start by looking around the house, what do you already have? Pumpkins left over from Halloween? Maybe some cute napkins to inspire the setting? Or how about some brown kraft paper? All it takes is a little something to inspire the rest of the room and if you already have it then you can save some $

Four: MAKE IT PERSONAL

What makes this dinner different from any other dinner? It’s a Friendsgiving!! Since the main theme is friendship and thankfulness, make sure that is known. This could be something sentimental like a pic you have with each friend and a note at their place setting or maybe a spot for friends to reflect and write a note to someone? How about a friend challenge of random acts of kindness? Or maybe a game that involves getting to know everyone a bit more? Make this night extra special by putting some thought into it.

Five: RELAX & ENJOY

Remember to breathe, this night isn’t just for your friends but you too! After all, once the table is set and the first glass of vino is poured it’s time to hang up the apron and all enjoy each other’s company. (Don’t worry about burning the Turkey, something tells me they will still be your friends, tee hee)
