If you are a CalPoly-ite, I am sure you are well aware of the yumminess that you can find at a little “hole in the wall” called Fattoush.  Named for a traditional Lebanese salad that helps to keep you cool in hot weather, this restaurant focuses on beautiful produce and fresh flavors (although you can definitely be naughty at Fattoush with a basket of garlic fries if you are feeling so inclined).


The fries and burgers looked great, but being a girl from LA, I was more than a little excited to get my fix of Greek and Lebanese inspired flavors.  Samir, the owner, was crazy friendly and we had a blast chatting about our mutual favorite food haunts in LA and San Fran areas.  It tickled-me-pink to chat up another chef who is just as passionate about food and flavor!  Living here on the Central Coast, I am ready to encourage anyone who is ready to bring a little ethnic flare to my palate!


Going for a chicken shwarma platter, I was really happy with the tenderness of the meat and the crispness of the veggies.


However, hands-down, the pitas were the star of this menu.  You could blame my usual abstinence of all wheat products, but this pita is SO worth the cheat!!  The flavor and texture could make even the most discerning an addict. 🙂


Along with the shwarma, I ordered a side of babaganoush.  I was hoping for something a tad more traditional here, but if you love hummus, this babaganoush is basically a mix of eggplant and hummus.  Yummy, just not what I was expecting.  But, who cares when you get to eat it with those killer pitas!!?!?!?!


All in all, a very happy belly equaled a very happy girl at Fattoush!  This lunch bares repeating!
