There are a few things I am a sucker for. One is tea and the other is coconut. Which means today’s recipe leaves me smiling from ear to ear 🙂
I decided to have some fun in the kitchen with making my own twist on a “thai iced tea” to create a chai inspired one. Chai usually means that cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and pepper might be making an appearance in the recipe. Then you can even have a “spicy” chai or a “sweeter” one depending on your ingredients. With that said feel free to play around with flavors and amounts, but here is may take!
- black tea bag
- vanilla bean
- cardamom (1 teaspoon)
- honey or agave (3 tablespoons)
- cinnamon (1 stick)
- cloves (1 teaspoon)
- coconut cream (1 can 14oz)
- ice cubes
Fill your kettle with water and place black tea bag, cinnamon stick, vanilla bean, cardamom, honey, and cloves in the pot while boiling.
Once boiled strain all the ingredients out so you have only your tea.
Next let your tea cool and prep your coconut cream and glasses with cubes.
If your cream is super lumpy give it a quick 30 seconds in he microwave. Now it should be easy to pour….
Start with a glass of tea and then add your cream…
