Today we are going to visit and oldie but goodie project, as I am sure you are very aware the 4th of July is right around the corner….time to get in the spirit!!! If you are alive in America and have eyeballs these days you have most likely seen the ever so trendy flag painted jean shorts- well today we tackle them zest style. After taking a trip to Goodwill and snagging these high waisted jeans for $2.00 I was ready to get my Merica’ pride going!!
– Jeans (cut into shorts) or Jean Shorts
– Red, White, & Blue Acrylic paint
Grab yourself some hillbilly jeans! I did a little jig in mine-tee hee
Next measure where to cut, my pal chanda helped me out here…
snip snip snip (at an angle)
All cut and ready!!
To keep things tidy and prevent the paint from soaking through add a cutting board beneath- super easy to clean later!
Start your stripes (let’s do vertical- a little more flattering than horizontal, wink wink)
Now onto blue…
I had Chanda jump in here to bust out the stars- you can use a stencil too if your not feeling too confident in your star painting skills-not to worry!
Now as vibrant as my flag was looking, it was a little too flashy for me, time to sand the shorts a bit and rough it up for that perfect vintage relaxed flair.
And now to put together some fun beach 4th of July garb-
