Chocolatey Banana Bread Heaven

What do you do when life gives you browned bananas??? I know, banana bread- so simple, why not? It’s a sunday morning and this will surely make your tastebuds smile. This recipe was passed along to me when I got married from my Aunt Mary Jo (shout out- Love you!) and I have made it A TON of times when I have spur of the moment company or just need a little warm gooey dessert fix.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 mashed ripe bananas
  • 3/4 tsp grated lemon rind
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/ 2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (nuts are optional too)

Directions:

Spray your loaf pan and preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In large bowl beat together sugar, oil ,eggs. Stir in bananas and lemon rind. In another bowl sift flour, baking soda, and salt and then add to banana mixture and stir until combined. Fold in chocolate chips and/or nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake 50 to 60 mins or until test’s done. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.

* Keep in mind the riper the bananas the richer the banana flavor the bread will have!
